Red Kite Day 3 (Primary)
Making Maths Memorable
Friday 21st October 2022 | Centenary Pavilion, Leeds United FC
Our third Primary Red Kite Day brought together over 300 colleagues from our 29 primary, special and all-through alliance partner schools. The conference focus was on maths and we were delighted that Craig Barton and Elaine Bennett each led sessions for our Y2-Y6 and EY-Y1 teaching and classroom-based support staff respectively. Through interactive keynotes and workshops, they provided evidence-informed advice, strategies and practical ideas on themes including memory and retrieval, checking for understanding, explanations, modelling and worked examples. Sessions were tailored for the relevant age ranges so colleagues left inspired with tips and takeaways to apply in their classrooms.
