Speech, language and communication needs - why, what and how?
Keynote presentation by Kate Freeman, Speech and Language Therapist and Liz Zoccolan, Lead for Inclusion, Red Kite Learning Trust
“Speech, language and communication: How well do you know your pupils? …and the impact of not knowing them”
This would lead participants to :
- Consider how to recognise hidden SLCN
- Reflect on the role of spoken language in learning
- Recognise the impact of unidentified SLCN on attainment
- Look at strategies for inclusive classroom practice
- Evaluate the importance of collaborative, systemic support
- Recognise the need for identification and support of SLCN
