This event is for Red Kite Alliance members only.
This is the termly network meeting of the English leads. Primary Subject Networks are groups of primary subject leads from each alliance school that meet to network, share and disseminate evidence-based approaches to subject pedagogy.
Pre course tasks and information will be sent approximately one week before the session. Please arrange to stay for the duration of the meeting to ensure you get the most out of it for you and your school.
A Red Kite Alliance network is:
- active and participatory
- full of sharing, discussion and support
- has a network leader to drive the agenda and organise the event
- contains bite size chunks of content and themes
- of mutual gain to all
- open to all
A Red Kite Alliance network is not:
- A course
- Direct instruction
- Delivery
About the facilitator:
Gina is an accredited lead practitioner in English. Over the past 5 years, through her role as English and Oracy coordinator at Roundhay School Primary Campus, she has delivered high quality professional development sessions for leaders, classroom practitioners, trainees and NQTs across Yorkshire.
Gina gained a first-class honours degree in Psychology from the University of Liverpool with a specialism in childhood development. She later published research exploring language acquisition in children with certain kinds of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Gina is passionate about inspiring teachers to embed a language-rich reading culture in their school which allows children develop into confident, articulate individuals.
