Engaging Vulnerable Learners: CPD Event for All Alliance Members

We’re delighted to announce that our next CPD event, as part of our Secondary Hub partnership with The Professional Teaching Institute (The PTI) is free and open to all Alliance colleagues, across primary, special and secondary phases.
Our Secondary Hub partnership with The PTI has so far offered 3 high-quality, subject-focused professional development days featuring practical workshops and expert facilitators for our DT, MFL and RS secondary colleagues, for which the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
However, for our next event, we are excited to extend the same high standard of professional learning to all our Alliance community. Our upcoming event, Engaging Vulnerable Learners, will take place on Thursday 6 November, 9:30am–3pm at Roundhay School.
The session will explore the disproportionate impact of lost learning on vulnerable students and provide practical strategies across four key areas:
- Whole-school systems and culture
- Mindset and inclusive practice
- Metrics and accountability
- Leadership and staff development
The day will be led by Shaun Brown (Deputy CEO, The Difference), with insights from Sam Pocock (Teacher Leader, Leeds West Academy). Designed to support primary, special and secondary colleagues, the session aims to help schools strengthen inclusive practice and leadership at every level.
This is a valuable opportunity to engage in professional learning that is practical, relevant and empowering and demonstrates our alliance’s commitment to collaborate, share and learn together, supporting lasting impact across all our schools.
