Red Kite Teacher Training Paid Summer Internships for STEM Students

If you are a studying a STEM subject and considering teaching Physics or Maths then you could get paid and get teaching experience this summer


Red Kite Teacher Training are offering a 4 week paid internship to penultimate year students studying STEM subjects with the potential to teach Maths and Physics.

You will follow a structured programme including sessions on safeguarding, teaching strategies and the Maths/ Physics curriculum. In addition you will be observing lessons, taking part in 1:1 support and working with groups of pupils.

• How does it benefit me?
You will find out whether a teacher training course is right for you by being immersed in school life and talking to experienced teachers in your subject.

In addition you will get to know the current Red Kite Trainees, get a ‘real’ picture of life as a Trainee and meet the Red Kite team, so will know some friendly faces when you start your Initial Teacher Training year.

• What do I need to qualify for the internship?

You must be a penultimate year student
You must have an A-level at B or above in Maths or Physics

Your degree subject should be related to Maths or Physics

You will teach Maths or Physics at;

Harrogate Grammar School
Roundhay School, Leeds
Rossett School, Harrogate

• What should I do after the internship?

You can apply for our 2019/20 teacher training courses through our Early Application scheme which means you spend the next year safe in the knowledge that you have secured a place for teacher training, allowing you to focus on your final year of studying.

Our Initial Teacher Training programme leads to a PGCE awarded by the University of Leeds and recommendation for QTS*
